Octazen: What The Heck Did Facebook Just Buy Exactly, And Why?

Facebook has acquired Malaysian startup Octazen Solutions for a “talent acquisition,” according to GigaOm. Octazen has a slightly different story on their home page, saying Facebook acquired “most of the company’s assets and to employ those assets in a different direction.”

Just what does Octazen do in the realm of social technology? Octazen was able to import your email address book from grabbers and social network invites supporting Hotmail, MSN.com, Live.com, GMail, Yahoo, AOL, Lycos, Mail.com, to name a few. But once you provided your email password, did it cache the password for others to use?
